I got some "left over" ceramic coating from a friend..

It was in a metal pint can that had the instructions taped to the can.. I do not know the manufacturer or what brand.. he said he used it on his exhaust manifolds (turbo car) and he claimed it worked great and also kept the under hood temps down (no real testing)

He gave it to me for free.. so I figured I would use it.. at the very least.. it'll keep the exhaust manifold and turbine housings from rusting. I hate how later model Garrett turbine housings rust so fast due to the company wanting to save money and changing the nickel content which doesn't change performance other than them rusting much faster.

Gathered all parts I wanted to do.. I may add the SZ expansion pipes too.. depending on how well this stuff performs. (I did not do the MS inlet pipes, although I probably will)

I then used carb cleaner to de-grease all of the items.. also used a scotchbrite pad and nylon brush to really get the crevices etc (even though they are brand new)

I then masked off all areas I did not want coated..'

and put them in my sand blasting cabinet where I used 120 grit aluminum oxide media to clean everything up even more.. I used compressed air and de-greased them once more before allowing them to dry before coating.

I applied 3-4 light coats of the ceramic coating.. using my Harbor freight HVLP spray gun. Letting it dry about 30 mins between light coats.

After drying I put them on an oven rack and already had my powder coating oven pre-heated for the preliminary heat cycles (IIRC.. there were 4 cycles that went up in stages of heating then cooling etc)

Here is the end result! It looks much better and hopefully the performance will be better.. It is supposed to keep the heat inside the manifold and turbo.. increasing the thermal dynamic efficiency resulting in faster flow down the exhaust. And also keep the heat out of the engine bay... which would be nice too.

Took me a few hrs from start to end with cooling and heating stages..
